Ashleigh Elser is a PhD student in Religious Studies. She is interested in the formation of readers as well as scriptural hermeneutics in nineteenth century Judaism and Christianity and responses to the rise of the historical critical movement in Biblical scholarship. She is the Marc and Nancy Shrier Jefferson Fellow.
